Cleaning and Sanitization procedure of RO and EDI System of Purified water System

  • CLEANING AND SANATIZATION (PASSIVATION) REPORT
  • SYSTEM: PURIFIED WATER GENERATION SYSTEM
  • Objective:
  • The system needs cleaning and sanitization before start of the plant and loading of RO membrane to remove any microbial load or any bio film present in the existing interconnecting piping and the RO Housing and Pumps.
  • Procedure :
  • The sanitization has to be carried by soaking and flushing the system with 80 – 100 ppm of  free chlorinated water.
  • The system will be sanitized from the soft water tank to inlet of  EDI inlet pipe.
  • The 80 – 100 ppm of free chlorine solution will be prepared in the soft water tank.
  • The sodium hypochlorite solution having 6 % concentration.
  • Add  the sodium hypo chlorite solution within the softwater tank.  After the tank is full allow the water soak the tank for 60  mins.
  • Disconnect the pipe at the inlet of EDI so as not to allow the chlorinated water enter EDI.
  • After 15 – 20 mins start the softwater transfer pump and  flush the chlorinated water through the RO – EDI system.  Open all the dumping , CIP inlet valve and sampling valve one after the other . Flush through all the points for 5 mins.
  • After Flushing is completed  fill the entire pipe line from soft water transfer pump to inlet of EDI with chlorinated water under 1.0 kg/cm2.
  • Allow the system to soak for minimum 10  hrs.  Flush the system such that no chlorine solution is present and water is free from chlorine.
  • Carry this above procedure 3 times for better disinfection.
  • ( Note :  Clean the RO housing with a clean cloth before loading of RO membrane )
  • Result
  • Above sanitization procedure was performed by  Mr. ……………………………………… in presence of M/s. …………………………………………. representative.

  • HYDRO TEST REPORT
  • SYSTEM  :   PURIFIED WATER GENERATION SYSTEM.
  • Objective
  • To ensure that there are no system leakage through the welding joint and through the gasket.
  • Procedure :
  • The entire RO – EDI system hydrotest is performed in two parts.
  • From RO feed Pump  upto First Pass RO High Pressure Pump. :  The entire is kept under  4.5 kg/cm2 pressure by running the RO feed Pump and than gradually closing the valve at the outlet of RO high pressure pump. The entire System is kept under pressure for 60 mins.
  • From RO High Pressure Pump to EDI inlet. :  The entire system is kept under pressure above 15kg/cm2 for a duration of  60 mins.  The RO high pressure Pump is started and the inlet valve to EDI is closed gradually.
  • Result
  • No Pressure Drop found and No physical leakage found in the system.
  • ( Note :  Pressure Gauge mounted on the RO – EDI system was us for carrying out the Hydro Test.)

  •   PASSIVATION AND CLEANING  REPORT FOR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
  • SYSTEM:   Purified Water Distribution System
  • The complete system is passivated with 2 – 5% concentration of nitric acid solution and cleaning with 1.5 – 2% caustic solution.
  • Carryout the passivation and cleaning procedure as per the SOP.
  •  Result :
  • The Purified Water Distribution system passivation and cleaning is carried out successfully as per the SOP.

  •  SANATIZATION REPORT FOR CIP SYSTEM
  • SYSTEM  :   CIP SYSTEM.
  • The complete CIP system is filled with portable water.  The water temperature is raised above with help of electrical immerson heater provided.
  • The temperature is raised upto 85deg cent. And maintained at the temperature for 60 mins.
  • Drain the water and flush the system twice with fresh water.
  •  Result :
  • Sanatization as per above mention procedure is carried out successfully.

  • HYDRO TEST REPORT FOR CIP SYSTEM
  • SYSTEM  :   CIP SYSTEM.
  • The complete CIP system is filled with portable water.  With means of Hand pump reaise the pressure in the CIP tank above 4.5 kg/cm2.
  • Allow the system to remain under pressure  for 4 hrs.
  •  Result :
  • NO leakage or pressure drop found.
